Tomaso Poggio has been studying the problem of learning within a multidisciplinary context for more than two decades. His goal is to nurture serious research on the mathematics, engineering and neuroscience of learning.

Biography

Biography

Tomaso Poggio is a scientific advisor for MIT Quest and director of the Center for Brains, Minds and Machines. He is also the Eugene McDermott Professor in MIT's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences and a principal investigator at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He is a former director of Mobileye and PHZ Capital Partners, Inc., and was involved in starting or investing in Arris Pharmaceutical, nFX, Imagen, Digital Persona, Deep Mind, and Orcam. He is an honorary member of the Neuroscience Research Program, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a founding fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, and a founding member of the McGovern Institute for Brain Research.
