Synopsis

Mike initially joined the MIT research community as a part of Professor Jim DiCarlo’s lab in June of 2021 as a research engineer. In December 2022, Mike joined the Quest Engineering team as well. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 2021 with a BS in computer science, minor in applied mathematics, and a BA in cognitive science with a minor in philosophy. In summer 2020, he was an AI research intern with the SIGMA cognitive architecture group at USC, and at UVA he taught a class for three semesters on artificial general intelligence/superintelligence. He is currently researching human/AI psychophysical benchmarks, and hopes to further pursue Neuro-AI research in graduate school. At the Quest, Mike continues to work on Brain-Score, expanding functionality, ensuring platform stability, and offering user support. He enjoys reading, working out, and debating the nature of consciousness.
